Personal information

We collect the information you provide when creating an account and profile: name, email, account type, profile details (bio, credits, company information), and any avatar or logo you upload.

Messages

Direct messages between filmmakers and brands are stored to provide the messaging feature and are visible only to the sender, the recipient, and platform administrators reviewing reports.

Scripts

Uploaded scripts are private by default and stored in restricted storage. No one — including ReelRoots staff outside of platform administration — can read a script except its owner and a brand with an active, explicitly approved access grant. Grants are revocable at any time by the script owner.

Project files

Posters, product images, and brand logos are stored as public assets since they support public listings. Scripts are the only file type treated as private by default.

Brand information

Company details, product listings, and brand assets are used to populate public brand and product pages and to power the platform's matching and search features.

Analytics

We track aggregate platform metrics (registered users, listings, placement proposals and outcomes) to understand platform health. See the admin analytics overview for what is currently tracked.

Cookies

ReelRoots uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data is shared with third-party service providers only as needed to operate the platform (hosting, email delivery, file storage).

Data storage

Data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) in [region — to be confirmed] and hosted on Vercel.

Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Reports and moderation records may be retained after account deletion as needed for safety and legal compliance.

Data deletion

Deleting your account from Account Settings permanently removes your profile, listings, scripts, and messages associated with your account. This action cannot be undone.
